My name is Johnny Douglas chef and owner of My Hungry Vegan. Our journey started back in 2017 when I decided to bet on myself and start eating healthier. I tried everything from quick fix alternatives to working out, but I still couldn’t stay consistent with eating healthier.  My disconnection with food like a many of us started from just not knowing what to eat. With all the food options we have healthier options typically aren’t at the forefront financially or mentally. With alot of my family members being diagnosed with diabetes, cancer and other life altering illnesses I decided to make a change in myself first in order to help them . My “WHY” came from wanting to show my family that you can still eat flavorful foods while vegan or just adopting better choices. Our mission is to show the people we cherish the most other way to live life through food. For me it was discovering the ability to create different foods and flavors using fresh vegetables along with fruits and herbs. It really brought out my creative side. Growing up we often have to work with what we had to make ends meet, so I adopt that same culture into my food by stating we are hungry vegan “plant a seed  in the community to harvest a masterpiece."
